While working at the nameless chicken restaurant that I work at, something quite interesting happened...
So there I was, minding my own business, cleaning a table, wishing I was elsewhere, and a Nissan Altima rushes into the parking lot, at roughly 12:15 PM with five Apex Police Department police cars in pursuit. The Altima pulls into a parking space, and a deputy jumps out of his Dodge Charger, and slowly approaches the Altima, gun in hand.
At this time, the entire restaurant has gone quiet, and the patrons are viewing the spectacle that is currently happening the parking lot.
So the deputy yells at the driver to unlock the door, and put their hands in the air. He agrees, and the deputy opens the door, the four other deputy’s rush in, and help the first deputy to push the criminal to the ground and cuff him.
From inside the restaurant, it does not seem as if he is resisting in any way. On the flip side, the police cars block the entry to our drive-thru line and half of our parking lot, for about 15 minutes.
An Apex PD Chevrolet Tahoe carts the criminal away, and two Apex PD Crown Victoria’s park alongside the Altima for about two hours after the event happens, and when I left at 6:30 PM (we closed at 6:00, because of the holiday), the Altima sat alone in the parking lot.
But I have done some sleuthing (I just visited !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , where I often see photos of my arrested classmates), and have found out that the perp is a was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Why he wanted to steal an early 2000’s Nissan Altima that appeared to be in poor shape is beyond me, but you gotta do what ya gotta do.
Well in a way, it makes sense, because it would be smarter (because it is an obvious idea to steal a car) to steal car that blends in.
Do any of you guys and gals have good stories about Nissan Altima’s or funny/interesting arrests, that you have seen?
OH, AND HAPPY AMERICA DAY!!!!1!!!!!!

I’ve observed that some of the worst drivers drive Altimas 2007-2012, maybe since many reckless teenage drivers at my school drive them. Now I’m slightly paranoid around one on the road.
Speaking of emergency vehicles, I’m hearing a lot of sirens today.
Idiot + firecracker = emergency vehicle.

Before we got a company car, we had a 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 S with CVT, and about 45,000 miles was put on it a year. Overall, it was a good car, but I do agree that other Altima drivers are complete idiots.

Misleading title!!!! hahahaha :p
I was hoping someone actually at work was getting arrested. The title sounded like your bosss got arrested or something.

Oh no, a friend that lives with us has the Journey as a company car. I’m only 15 and don’t have a drivers license, so no company car for me.

Well last year, one of our managers was caught taking $740 from the safe, and was charged with larceny.

Would this nameless chicken restaurant happen to be the Chik-fil-A in Apex?

I’ve seen a few amusing arrests but only one car related comes to mind right now: the drunk driver that hit me.
To keep the story short: he clips the rear of my car by taking a turn too quickly and drives away, at the next intersection (neighborhood) he tries to take another right, under steers, hops the curb barely missing a tree and stop sign and comes to a stop in the side of a house, he flees on foot back past me, cops come from all directions (I called 911 immediately), cops drive up on sidewalk and get out guns drawn, he gets arrested.
After the fact details: he blew a .21 (legal limit is .08), he was 19, it was a Thursday morning at 9 AM, he drove a mid to late 90s Maxima, he almost got off on a technicality.

lol idk
(yes...why?)

Wow, that seems really crazy. .21 at 9 AM? Late 90’s Maxima? People bought those?
![]() 07/04/2015 at 22:29 |

Actually lots of people bought them...

A guy I knew in high school lost his license multiple times in one.
Yeah. Summer time so I figured he partied real hard.

Haha I know it sounds a bit creepy. But I’ve eaten at that Chik-fil-A before. I live in the Apex/Cary area too. (Side note: I had no idea how many of us Opponauts lived in NC! There’s me, you, Slant6, who I even saw on the road this week, MBW, and probably even more.)

It’s good food, but it can be expensive, and I’m there literally all of the time.
Yeah, we had a meet in Greensboro just last week. MBW, Justin Westbrook (Beyond Bond page), me, and some other guy showed up.
The NC Oppos that I know of include MBW, Justin Westbrook, Slant6, THSnorn92, you, and myself.

Yeah, I saw all of the posts about the meet. I wanted to go, but I couldn’t end up making it. If there’s another one I’d love to attend. Also, do you ever go to the Raleigh C&C?

I was mugged in broad daylight by some hooligans in an Altima. I remembered their plate number and they were caught within an hour. They tried telling the police I was their drug dealer.

We’re probably going to do the next meet closer to Raleigh. Probably Chapel Hill because it's an equal travel distance for everyone. And I haven't been to the Raleigh C&C in a while because work and such.

Because I assume you had an ounce of cocaine, a bundle of marijuana, and a few needles of heroin in the back of your van? And I’ve come to realize that the base model Nissan Altima is the official vehicle of terrible people everywhere.

Good thing it wasn’t you getting arrested. I got arrested at work once. It was not present. But my boss was cool with it.

Let’s go to the Raleigh C&C. I’ve never been to a C&C. I love cars. I love coffee.

Juicy, like *our* chicken.

Perhaps the car was available, or wrong place wrong time, or the perpetrator had prior knowledge of Altimas? I saw a few episodes of Bait Car where the bait vehicles were Accords, Altimas, and Camries, to surprising success.

Nissans seem to have taken that spot since the death of Pontiac.

I see what you did there...
But the food isn't completely terrible.

I also love cars. Don’t really love coffee (I’m weird). We should definitely go, it’s a great time. Here is the website for it.

I’m not that guy. It’s a nickname given to me.
